Every tool on this site is tested hands-on. Here's exactly how we score, rank, and write about AI tools β and how we make money (clearly disclosed).
We create real accounts and test free tiers and paid plans with our own money whenever possible. We never rely solely on press accounts or demo access, because those experiences aren't what you'll get.
We test each tool on actual work: writing client emails, generating design assets, summarizing contracts, coding mini-scripts. If a tool can't handle real work, it won't score well here, regardless of marketing claims.
Every tool is rated 1β10 on each dimension. The overall score is a weighted average.
How fast can a new user get value? Learning curve and UX quality.
How good is the actual output? Accuracy, creativity, usefulness.
Are you getting what you pay for? Quality of free tier included.
Uptime, consistency of results, speed on repeat tasks.
Is this tool worth it for a solo freelancer? Considers solo workflows, billing models, and support quality for small users.
Unlike sites that just describe features and leave you guessing, we give a clear "Best forβ¦", "Skip ifβ¦" verdict in every review. We take positions. If a tool isn't worth it for most freelancers, we say so.
AI tools change fast β pricing, features, and quality all shift. We revisit and update reviews at least every 3 months, or immediately when a major new version drops. Every review shows a "Last Updated" date.
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click a link and sign up for a paid plan, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we fund the site and keep all content free.
Affiliate relationships do not influence our scores or recommendations. We have given negative reviews to tools we have affiliate arrangements with, and positive reviews to tools we don't earn from. Our scores are based solely on our testing criteria above.
Affiliate links are marked with rel="nofollow sponsored" in our HTML, in line with Google's guidelines and FTC disclosure requirements.
If you spot something that looks inaccurate, outdated, or if you'd like to suggest a tool for review, we'd love to hear from you.
